Bethel College, affiliated with the Missionary Church, is a Christian community of learners dedicated to building lives of commitment for leadership in the Church and the world. Bethel provides liberating academic and co-curricular programs to challenge the mind, enlarge the vision and equip the whole person for lifelong service.

Institutional Profile

Bethel College, launched in 1947, is an urban-situated, evangelical institution affiliated with the Missionary Church, currently composed of 1,650 traditional and adult/graduate students from 35 states and 10 countries, and 250 full-time employees, in a city of 250,000 residents (Mishawaka), five colleges (including, nearby, the University of Notre Dame, IUSB, Ivy Tech, Holy Cross, Saint Mary's), the 2nd largest shopping district in the state of Indiana, 15,000 businesses, 50 parks, and Mishawaka's own renovated, 3-mile Riverwalk development. GREATer Agenda

In 2022, Bethel College celebrates its 75th Anniversary. That threshold is not an insignificant flip of the calendar. It could be a gateway, an appointed time which affects how we work now. Years pass swiftly whether we pay attention or not. Bethel decided to pay attention.

Innovation

As part of a campus-wide initiative, Bethel employees are participating in two-day workshops on Innovation Leadership Immersion at the Pfeil Innovation Center in South Bend, Indiana. A special room, the Bethel Innovation Gateway, was the first project created as a result of the initiative.
